Rachel Frances Smith, daughter of Joseph and Mary L. Smith was born in Alamo, Ind, Sept 20, 1854 and died Feb 11, 1918 aged 63 Y 4M 21D. She was united in marriage to George F. Graham Nov 2, 1882 who preceded her in death Nov 2, 1914. To this union six children were born, two dying in infancy. Ada, wife of Louis Henning, who also preceded her parents in death, April 25, 1914. Aaron and Victor of this place, and Della wife of B.O. Nicholson of Russellville. Four grandchildren, Estelle, Isole and Victor Henning, and Gladys Lucile Nicholson. Mrs. Graham was a kind and thoughtful wife and mother, always planning for their welfare, and in her last illness was a most patient sufferer. She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, one daughter, four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Gilkey of Yountsville, Mrs. Noah Myers of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Alice Baettge of Tacoma, Washington; two brothers, John and James Smith of Alamo, besides a host of friends. Truly we can say as with the poet: "There is no flock, however watched and tended, but one dead lamb is there, there is no fireside howso'er defended but has one vacant chair." -- - typed by kbz

Waveland Feb 11 - Mrs. Rachel Graham, 62 years old died at her home here this morning at 5:30 o'clock after an illness of about 3 weeks of Brights disease. For th epast few days she had been confined to her bed. Mrs. Graham was born near Alamo Sept 20, 1854, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Smith. She was a member of the United Brethren Church with which she ? in early girlhood. She was a kindly neighbor and an excellent mother. She is survived by two sons: Aaron and Victor; one daughter, Mrs. Dilla Nicholson of Russellville and three grandchildren, Estelle Iola and Victor Henning. One daughter and her husband preceded her in death. The funeral services will be hold Wednesday and burial will be made at Russellville - typed by kbz
